Historian Fiona Maxwell, PhD, of the University of Chicago and Dominic A. Pacyga, PhD, author Clout City: The Rise and Fall of the Chicago Political Machine, will have an illustrated discussion of her recent dissertation. The talk will have an emphasis on the role of social reformer Mary McDowell in the settlement house movement and the early years of the city's political machine.
A Q & A session with the audience will follow the talk, as well as a book signing. The Seminary Co-op Bookstore will be on site.
