Twenty years ago, UChicago professor of Cinema and Media Studies Jacqueline Stewart founded the South Side Home Movie Project, a testament to the resilience and everyday beauty of the South Side in the 1950s and '60s. The scenes of graduations, birthdays, and moments of community and pride prove to all Chicagoans that what we share is greater than what divides us. Along with her remarks, the Hyde Park born and raised Dr. Stewart will be showing outtakes of home movies from the Collection, especially ones related to Hyde Park.

FREE and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the program.
